The main improvements affect in particular:
• The old gear box driving system (spindle rotating system) has been replaced by a brushless direct driving system.
• Turn/milling work feeding both driven by digital servosystems motors and brushless engines.
• Oval turning tools set-up system has been simplified and automated: manual tools positioning are under encoder control; inside turning tools positioning set-up is run by a remote control reducing this operation to a very short time.
• Cam copying system has been improved in order to get a simplified and faster cam feeder positioning; beside cam copying rate is under encoder control
• Milling/cutting system can be easily positioned thanks to parametric control of all data:
• cutting speed
• cutting angle
• cutting feed
• cutting stroke
• cutting depth
• All the system is controlled by a CNC with an integrated touch screen panel displaying and saving all machining parameters for every piston ring processed by the machine. Easy and quick recall of saved parameters.
